Project Description

Disaster Aid Australia (DAA) is an Australian charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission.

Their Mission is to provide, and assist in delivering water systems and relevant humanitarian aid to people affected by natural and other disasters.

DAA is a member of Disaster Aid International, a Rotary Collaborating Organisation comprising Disaster Aid organisations in many countries all dedicated to providing Humanitarian Aid.

Disaster Aid International (DIA) comprises ‘Country Partners’ who are each autonomous but subscribe to the same set of rules, and work for the benefit of those requiring assistance after a disaster.

Since 2011, the NDY Charitable Trust has donated over $90,000 to communities affected by natural disasters through Disaster Aid Australia.  These include:

  • 2015 – Nepal Earthquake
  • 2016 – Cyclone Winston in Fiji
  • 2016 – Ecuador Earthquake
  • 2018 – Indonesian Sulawesi Earthquake and Tsunami
  • 2021 – Typhoon In-fa – Philippines

The NDY Charitable Trust has also provided financial support to DAA for sky hydrant water purification systems to provide safe water in the Philippines, India and Columbia.
